Open Positions
FLOOR SUPERVISOR

Objective: This position is a preparatory position for an individual seeking growth and commitment within the Brooklyn Industries retail community. A Floor Supervisor will hold a certain level of responsibility along with a high level of accountability.

Expectations:

The duties of a Floor Supervisor will educate and prepare one for potential advancement in the company. The expectations are outlined as follows:

  • Expected to be on-time, especially when opening the store.
  • Will be an acting Supervisor, at all times, regardless of the Store Manager/Assistant Manager being present on the premises. 
  • Set a good example for associates and maintain store manager standards.
  • Required to fill out the “daily goal sheet” at the start of a morning shift when the manager is not present. 
  • Expected to delegate shift specific tasks to the staff, when the Store Manager/Assistant Manager is not present.
  • Expected to motivate the staff to achieve daily goals and complete projects when a manager is not present. 
  • Assist in training and monitoring new employees.
  • Be knowledgeable of and able to enforce company policies 
  • Responsible for taking charge of customer service issues, regardless if the Store/Assistant manager present. 
  • Accountable for maintaining the store standards at all times. Must enforce current, changing, or new standards.
  • Possibility of supervising from open to close without Store Manager/Assistant Manager. 
  • Accountable for any theft (internal or external) that occurs while supervising. Floor Supervisor will be expected to uphold the security standards of their store. 
  • Required to have open communication with the rest of the management team. Must consistently provide information on staff and store operations.
  • Ability to close-out the register and be accountable for the closing responsibilities. 
  • Will be encouraged to learn more to achieve a higher role of responsibility.

STORE MANAGERS

Location: Manhattan & Brooklyn, NY

Responsibilities:
• Managing and motivating a team in order to ensure high levels of efficiency and to increase overall sales 
• Managing all aspects of inventory control and loss prevention
• Analyzing sales figures and forecasting future sales volumes in order to maximize profits 
• Interviewing potential staff; conducting appraisals and performance reviews; providing training and development 
• Establishing and maintaining high standards of quality customer service 
• Sustaining awareness of market trends in the retail industry; understanding forthcoming customer initiatives; examining the business and marketing strategies of local competition
• Supervising the sales floor during store hours; interacting with employees and customers; identifying and resolving urgent issues

 

Requirements:
• 3+ years of Retail Store Management experience
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Exceptional communication and customer service skills
• Excellent delegation skills
• Ability to motivate a team while working as part of the team
• Detail oriented and able to multi-task

ASSISTANT STORE MANAGERS

Location: Manhattan & Brooklyn, NY, Portland, OR

Responsibilities: 
• Assists the store manager with the day-to-day operations of BKI store
• Maintain standards, improve customer service, drive store sales, and increase profitability. 
• Ensures customer needs are met, complaints are resolved, and service is quick and efficient. 
• Maintain store appearance and product presentation to company standards. 
• Provides support to sales associates during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise. 
• Be a positive leader to all sales associates
• Attend monthly Manager conference call in absence of Store Manager
• Make recommendations for hiring, firing and promotions
• Order store supplies
• Conduct team meetings with Store Manager
• Train new employees

Requirements:
• 1+ years of Retail Store Management experience
• Strong hands-on management skills preferably within retail 
• Ability to hire, train and inspire team of sales associates 
• Building team to meet sales goals and merchandising mix 
• Personal sales skills, ability to sell fashion and implement high level of customer service 
• Entrepreneurial spirit- contribute to overall company culture of building better systems, working towards common goals, and achieving personal results 
• Honesty and integrity 
• Goal-oriented, with an interest in business operations is a plus
